Cabbage and Snow peas Stir Fry
Stir frying is one of the easiest cooking techniques that you can apply to have dinner ready in no time. In this recipe I combined cabbage and snow peas, they are some of my favorite vegetables, I hope yours too. Cabbage is a part of the cruciferous family. “Cruciferous vegetables are among the most nutritious because they are rich in several vitamins and minerals, plus they contain unique disease-fighting compounds”, according to Consumer Magazines. They are the common source of glucosinolates that gives the vegetable a strong flavor and helps prevent cancer. So start eating your cabbage today!
Let’s talk about Snow Peas:
Snow peas are also known as Chinese pea pods, it’s high in fiber and vitamin C. I enjoy eating green vegetables and snow peas are very green which makes me eat more of it.
Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups cabbage, shredded
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 cup snow peas, trimmed
- 1 medium carrot, thinly sliced
- 1 stalk green onion, chopped
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons tamari, or low sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon 21 seasoning salute
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- a handful of cilantro, chopped
- black pepper to taste ( add a pinch of salt if you like)
Instructions
- Heat a wok or a pan with oil, saute garlic and onion. Add the carrot and celery, stir, add 21 seasoning salute, sesame oil, tamari, and pepper, stir to mix well.
- Add the snow peas and cabbage, stir to mix well cook for 2-3 minutes or until tender. Add a little salt if you like. Adjust the seasoning to your desired taste.
