Best Homemade Bread Recipes are simple and amazingly delicious. You can make different kinds of bread from one basic dough recipe. tips

  • If using softened butter make sure to leave it on the counter to bring to room temperature instead of placing it in the microwave. Due to overheating, the butter tends to melt and it doesn’t give the same consistency as softened butter.
  • If you don’t have a stand mixer or you’re kneading by hand, the kneading time is 2-3 minutes longer than using a stand mixer. For example, by hand, it’ll take 12-15 minutes and by stand mixer, it only takes 8-10 minutes. The mixer is more consistent than manually kneading by hand, therefore the result is not the same.
  • Always check for a windowpane test. Take a small piece of the dough and stretch it into a thin film. The light should pass through it without tearing. This is how you’ll know the dough is ready to rise and it’s properly kneaded. Check out this Windowpane Test.
  • The secret ingredient to making good bread is “patient”. You got to give it time to rise and have fun kneading and baking.
