how to easily cut watermelon

  • Watermelon comes in different sizes. There is a smaller personal size, and there’s huge watermelon enough to feed a battalion. I always start cutting it in half then quarters.
  • If you’re serving watermelon slices during a BBQ party in the backyard, I would leave them quarter-size triangles with skin on. Place them on a platter where everyone can help themselves. It’s easier to serve that way.
  • If you’re serving them as part of the family-style meal, remove the skin, cut them into strips, and cut them again in cubes. Then serve them in a large serving bowl, where everyone can scoop them with the serving spoon and serve themselves.

What to make with watermelon

  • Watermelon is very versatile. It’s not only great for popsicles but you can add it to your smoothies, salad, salsa, drinks (with alcohol or non-alcohol).
  • You can flavor your jello snacks with it.
  • It’s a great candy flavor.
  • There are many desserts you can add watermelon in. You can even make a whole watermelon cake. I see people ice it with whipped cream and add sprinkles (very creative).
  • You can make a fruit basket with watermelon.
  • You can blend it, add cream, freeze, and you’ll have ice cream.

how to remove popsicles out of the mold

  • There are different shapes of molds you can buy. You can even use dixie cups and place them in the freezer for 30 minutes. Then remove from the freezer (at this point the popsicle is solid). Place the stick in the middle and place them back in the freezer until completely frozen (about 4 hours or overnight).
  • After freezing, run the bottom of the molds into warm water for a few seconds (start with 30 seconds). Then wiggle the stick, and if it still doesn’t come out, try running it again into warm water.
