Shrimp with Sweet and Spicy Sauce

Perfectly cooked shrimps in Sweet and Spicy Chili Sauce. Serve in a bowl of rice with chopped tomatoes and cucumber on the side.

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Bowl
  • Nonstick skillet or cast-iron skillet

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 pound raw shrimps, peeled, deveined, tail on
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sweet and Spicy Chili Sauce aka chili oil
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch, dissolved in 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • Option: cooked rice, chopped tomatoes, cucumber, crispy garlic, and sliced green onions

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl season shrimps with salt. Set them aside.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, Sweet and Spicy Chili Sauce, slurry (cornstarch dissolved in water).
  • Continuously stir until the sauce thickened. Add the sauce to the bowl of seasoned shrimps, toss to coat. Marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat a skillet with oil, add the marinated shrimps, cook for 1 minute on each side or until pink. Remove from the pan, serve with rice and veggies.
