STEP-BY-STEP

  1. Preheat the oven:

    Preheat the oven to 325ºF

  2. Score the ham:

Use a sharp pairing knife and score the ham with shallow cuts in a diamond pattern. Or you can buy a spiral ham which is already scored.

  3. Bake:

Place the ham in a roasting pan and cover it with foil and bake for 1 hour.

  4. Make the glaze:

Meantime, in a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, pineapple juice, cinnamon, and cloves. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.

  5. Remove the ham:

Take the ham out of the oven and brush the glaze over the ham.

  6. Return the ham back in the oven:

The ham goes back in the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 30-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 140ºF.

  7. After it baked:

Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
