Beef and Pepper Stir Fry

Simple dinner recipe! Busy night calls for a quick and easy dish to make. You can use any tender cut beef like top round, sirloin, or rib eye. The secret to getting a tender beef is to make sure the oil is hot enough for frying. Use a high heat point oil like vegetable, canola, or peanut oil. For a little bit of heat, you can add peppercorns or just use ground black pepper.

let’s get everything ready:

  • Slice the beef thinly (about 1/4 inch thick). Cut against the grain to maximize the tenderness of the beef.
  • In a bowl, add the sliced beef, an inch grated ginger (about a teaspoon), sesame oil, soy sauce, and cornstarch.
  • Use your hand and toss to coat well.

Let’s fry the beef first:

  • Make sure the oil is hot enough.
  • Add the beef, cook for 3 minutes on each side or until browned.
  • Remove from the heat. Place the cooked beef on a paper towel to drain the excess oil. Set aside.

Let’s make the sauce:

In a measuring cup or small bowl, combine soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar, honey, brown sugar, tomato paste, and grated garlic, stir until well combined.

ready to stir fry:

  • In the same pan, add the remaining oil and onion, then saute for 2 minutes or until tender.
  • Add the pepper, cooked beef, and sauce, constantly stirring until the sauce thickened.
