Sweet and Sour Pork

A boneless center-cut pork chop. Combined with sweet and tangy sauce, and stir-fried veggies.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 pound boneless center-cut pork, cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, deseed and cubed
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks, optional

Instructions
 

  • Make the sauce by combining, soy sauce, oyster sauce, apple cider vinegar, honey, tomato paste, and brown sugar.
  • Season the pork with salt and pepper. Add the cornstarch, and toss to coat.
  • Heat the pan with oil, add the pork, and cook until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the pan and set them aside.
  • Use the same pan, add more oil if needed. Add the onion, and saute until tender. Add the garlic, and continue sauteing until fragrant.
  • Add the bell pepper (optional, pineapple), stir to combine, and cook the bell pepper until tender.
  • Add the sauce and the cooked pork back into the pan. Stir, and simmer until the sauce thickened. Serve with steamed rice.
