cutting board
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound raw shrimps, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1 red chili pepper, sliced
- 2 cups fresh snow peas, trimmed
FOR THE SAUCE
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
Season shrimps with salt. Heat the wok or wide pan with oil, add the shrimps, and cook until pink. Set them aside.
Use the same pan, add more oil if needed. Add the onion, and cook until tender. Add garlic, ginger, red chili pepper, and snow peas. Then saute for a minute or until the snow peas are a little tender but still crunchy.
Meantime, make the sauce. Combine all sauce ingredients, and stir until the sugar and cornstarch dissolve.
Add the shrimps back into the pan, and stir to combine. Add the sauce, and continue stirring until the sauce thickened. Remove from the heat, and serve with steamed rice.
