Steak Sandwich

There are several ways to make a steak sandwich. Some recipes take hours to make because they roast the beef or make their own gravy/beef stock, which is great. Well, this one is very easy and simple but you get so much flavor. I used a store bought beef shaved steak. If you have been following me, you know I’m all about quick and simple. Also, if you don’t have a mini toaster oven, just preheat a regular oven and toast your sandwich.

14 oz beef shaved steak or 1 lb. tender cut beef, thinly sliced

2 bell peppers, sliced into big pieces for roasting

1 yellow onion, sliced

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or Italian medley

4 tablespoons olive oil, divided

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 425 ºF. Line a baking pan with parchment paper. Lay the peppers skin side up on the baking pan. Drizzle 2 tablespoons olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Roast for 15-20 minutes or until tender. Cool, remove the skin. Set aside.

2. Heat the pan with the remaining oil, add the onion, sauté for 1-2 minutes or until tender. Add the garlic, season with salt and pepper, stir to combine and cook for another minute.

3. Add thyme, basil, Italian seasoning, and pepper corn, stir to mix well. Pull the meat to separate before adding to the pan, add Worcestershire sauce, stir to combine. Cool before assembling the sandwich.

4. Preheat your toaster oven. For the meantime, build your sandwich. Lay the bread on a flat surface, add the meat, roasted bell peppers, and cheeses. Place in the toaster oven, toast until the cheese melted.
