How To Make a Refreshing Summer Fruit Salad with Honey Lime Glaze
Time needed: 30 minutes
- CUT THE ORANGES:
To cut peeled oranges in between segments, start by holding the orange steady and use a sharp knife to cut down the sides of the orange. Following the curve of the fruit and removing the white pith. Next, cut along the membrane that separates each segment, making sure to only cut down to the center of the orange. Finally, gently pull the segments apart.
- CUT THE GRAPEFRUITS:
First, cut off the ends of the fruit. Then, using a sharp knife, slice the fruit in half top to bottom. Next, cut each half into thin slices, keeping the shape of the fruit in mind. Finally, cut each slice diagonally to create triangular pieces. Be careful when handling the knife and the slippery fruit.
- CUT THE KIWIS:
Peel the kiwis, then cut them in half lengthwise and slice each half into bite-size pieces. Be sure to remove any white, tough core that may be in the center of the fruit before serving.
- SLICE THE BANANAS:
Peel and use a sharp knife to slice the bananas into even-sized rounds. Be careful not to apply too much pressure as bananas are soft and can easily become mushy.
- MAKE THE HONEY LIME GLAZE:
Combine all the cut-up fruits in a bowl. Then, in a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, lime juice, and chopped mint leaves. Pour the glaze over the fruits and toss until coated. Chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 15-30 minutes before serving.
