Steak and Shrimp Fajita

Perfectly grilled steak and shrimp with homemade taco seasoning.

FOR TACO SEASONING
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
FOR THE STEAK AND SHRIMP FAJITA
- 1 pound tender cut beef, thinly sliced
- 1 pound shrimps, peeled, deveined
- 6 tablespoons oil, divided
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 yellow or red bell pepper, deseed, sliced
- 1 cup store-bought salsa
- 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced, deseed for milder taste
- 1 cup roughly chopped cilantro
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
- salt and pepper to taste
- option, flour or corn tortillas
FOR THE TACO SEASONING, STEAK AND SHRIMPS
In a bowl, combine all taco seasoning ingredients, steak, and shrimps. Toss to coat well. Set aside for at least 30 minutes.
After marinating the steak and shrimps for 30 minutes, heat the grill pan with 3 tablespoons of oil. Add the steak cook to the desired doneness. Then, add the shrimps, and cook until pink. Set them aside.
FOR THE STEAK AND SHRIMPS FAJITA
Heat a cast-iron skillet or nonstick pan with the remaining oil.
Add the onion, and saute for 2 minutes or until tender and translucent. Add the garlic, and continue sauteing until fragrant.
Add the bell pepper and jalapeno, and stir to combine. Cook the peppers until tender. Add the store-bought salsa, stir, and simmer for 2 minutes.
Add the cooked steak and shrimps to the pan. Simmer for a minute or until well heated. Garnish with cilantro and squeeze the lime juice after cooking.
