Honey Garlic Shrimps

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound shrimps, peeled, devained, tail on
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 3 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 mild red chili pepper, sliced
  • a pinch of red chili pepper flakes

Instructions
 

  • Season the shrimps with salt and pepper, let it sit for a minutes. Meantime, heat the pan with 2 tablespoons oil. Add the shrimps and cook until they're pink or opaque. When the shrimps starts to curl they're ready. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Use the same pan and add the rest of the oil. Add the garlic, tomato paste, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and soy sauce, stir, simmer for a minute.
  • Add the cooked shrimps back in the pan, stir to combine. It's optional but at this point you'll add the red chili peppers and a pinch of red chili pepper flakes for a little heat.
  • Drizzle the sesame oil, sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions. Serve warm

Notes

This is great to pair with steamed rice and Asian coleslaw on the side.
