Equipment

  • Mixer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula
  • Decorating bag or ziplock bag
  • Large star tip (1M)
  • Small glasses

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 oz chocolate bar, for chocolate shavings

Instructions

  • In a bowl, add 1/2 cup heavy cream, place in a microwave for 1 minute. In another bowl, add chocolate chips. Add the hot heavy whipping cream with the chocolate chips.
  • Use a spatula and mix the chocolate with cream for 2-3 minutes or until melted and smooth. Cool for 5 minutes, set it aside.
  • In another bowl, add the rest of the heavy cream. Use a mixer, mix for 2-3 minutes or until foamy. Turn the mixer low and add the powdered sugar. Bring the mixer back to high speed, continue mixing until stiff peak. Do not overmix or it'll turn into butter.
  • Fill a decorating bag fitted with a star tip (1M). Reserve about 1/4 cup of the whipped cream for topping.
  • Fill a ziplock bag with the chocolate mixture. Cut the tip of the bag about 1/2 inch. Fill each shot glass with the chocolate mousse. Chill (place them in the fridge) for 45-50 minutes. Pipe the prepared whipped cream on top. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
