  • Measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless pork chops
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce, I used Hickory BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375ºF. Place the pork chops in a baking dish or ovenproof pan.
  • Make the dry rub by combining, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and red chili pepper flakes.
  • Drizzle oil and massage the pork chops with the dry rub, and make sure to season well on both sides.
  • Cover with foil, and bake for 15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145ºF. Remove the foil, and brush with 1/2 of the BBQ sauce.
  • Broil for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Baste with the juices or sauce from the pan. Then brush with the rest of the BBQ sauce before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

NOTE #1 - If you're not serving the baked pork chops right away, cover them with clean foil to keep them warm. The moisture will also keep the meat juicy.
NOTE #2 - If you're serving the baked chops right away, let them rest for at least 5 minutes before cutting them for the meat to absorb the juices. The flavor will be infused and you'll have an enjoyable dinner.
